Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, a popular actor and former WWE superstar, reportedly helped his cousin and fellow WWE superstar Roman Reigns mark his debut in the film industry.
Reigns made his Hollywood debut with the 2019 action flick and Fast and Furious franchise spin-off Hobbs and Shaw, which also starred Dwayne Johnson. Reigns was said to have been hesitant about taking up the role, but Johnson reportedly encouraged him to pursue it and assisted him throughout the filming process.
How Did The Rock Help Roman Reigns Take Up Acting?
It’s a well-known fact that Dwayne Johnson enjoys a successful professional wrestling and acting career. He has lead roles in many blockbuster films, including The Mummy Returns and Jumanji. Besides, The Rock is known to support his family and also credit them for his success. Back in 2018, he reportedly gifted his mother a new house as a Christmas gift after she had been living there for more than two decades.

Speaking of Reigns, he is a WWE superstar with a huge fan following backing him. Having won multiple belts in professional wrestling, Hollywood seemed like a natural move in his career. And having someone like The Rock to help him through the process gives him an edge over fellow actors/WWE superstars. So, Johnson coming to help his cousin Reigns for his Hollywood debut doesn’t come as a surprise.

Roman Reigns Thanking The Rock For His Hollywood Debut
Reigns was missing in action in the WWE for some time in 2018 after he announced he had leukemia. He also wasn’t active on social media much, leaving fans wondering about his health. However, on January 25, 2019, he posted on Instagram announcing his debut in Hollywood. His post read:
“I cannot thank my family, friends, and my new FAST & FURIOUS FAMILY enough for all the love and support I have received while on this exciting HOBBS & SHAW project.“
Showing gratitude towards his cousin Dwayne Johnson and the WWE, he wrote,
“The time I‘ve spent with my cousin on this wonderful island has truly been a healing grace. I am grateful to the @wwe @therock @universalpictures and everyone on the set of HOBBS & SHAW, for allowing me to be a part of this franchise.”
Given The Rock’s track record of helping and supporting his loved ones, it only makes sense for him to help his cousin and keep his family’s close-knit dynamic strong.
