Since being traded to the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill carried over his number one wide receiver status. This has led to Hill being a staple receiver in the top five. Despite that, the Miami Dolphins need to trade him, and that ideal team is the Pittsburgh Steelers.
For the Dolphins, they are in a predicament with money. They’ll either need to extend Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback or go the rookie route to save money. On top of that Jaylen Waddle signed a three-year, $84.75 million dollar contract. With Hill, he will be looking for his own extension and that’s a bit much for the Dolphins to spread across the three players. What Hill will be looking for is more on the level of Justin Jefferson, as Hill has had back-to-back 1,700-plus receiving yard seasons with the Dolphins and 20 touchdowns.
For the Dolphins, with Hill turning 31 next season, it would be ideal to trade him and get value for his production while possible. The Steelers are the team that makes the most sense. With their uncertainty at quarterback between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, it would be ideal to get a quality receiver like Hill to keep the offense steady. As of right now, the top receiver for Pittsburgh is George Pickens. While Pickens is good, there needs to be some on the offense to help take the pressure and attention off him. With the dynamic ability of Hill and his speed to create separation off the line, he would add a new element to the offense and be able to help mentor Pickens and Roman Wilson.
It’s a bizarre trade, but one that makes sense for both sides. The Dolphins need to get younger on offense, while the Steelers need to go all in to maximize this team that they have with Mike Tomlin, and they lack at wide receiver. It’s a win-win scenario for both teams in the long term.
