Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had his 2024 training camp debut Wednesday.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jackson did not survive the whole day, only lasting an hour before leaving the field.
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has been ill
In a storyline that is not novel to Baltimore Ravens fans, Jackson is missing valuable time with his team due to illness.
The NFL’s most recent Most Valuable Player missed the first three days of training camp due to the same illness that pushed him off the field after just an hour on Wednesday.
Jackson struggled in team snaps, splitting snaps with backup Ravens QB Josh Johnson. Jackson reportedly only managed to throw one completion in team drills. He was also intercepted by defensive back Marlon Humphrey after overthrowing a receiver.
Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken spoke on Lamar Jackson’s status
Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken spoke on Jackson and his near future after Jackson only lasted an hour into training camp.
In an article from ESPN, Monken said Jackson seemed to be feeling good during meetings and at the beginning of practice.
“We are going to work him back in, for sure,” Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken said with a smile. “I know I’m being kind of a smartass. You’ll have to ask him how he feels. But he was great in meetings. When we were on the field at the start [of practice], he said he was feeling good.”
While Monken is only going into his second year as the OC for the Ravens, it is not his first time dealing with Jackson’s illness. According to ESPN, Jackson has not gone a single year in the NFL without missing at least one practice due to illness.
“We had all offseason, and Lamar was part of that,” Monken said. “It’s great having him back today, but I don’t feel behind. We didn’t stop. We are still going through the install.”
Lamar Jackson missing more time with the Baltimore Ravens is a cause for concern among Ravens fans
Another instance of Jackson missing time with the Ravens due to illness continues to spark concern among Ravens fans.
Some are genuinely concerned for Jackson’s health and immune system while others continue to speculate whether there is an underlying reason as to why Jackson continues to miss time with his team.
No one gets sick like Lamar Jackson. I’m honestly worried about his immune system. https://t.co/EAvQCct83w

I have often wondered if he has Krohn’s or some digestive type of disease. 🤷 If so that’s gotta be a challenge for him.

We could cure IBS worldwide by just instructing people to avoid all foods Lamar eats

More than likely he has an autoimmune issue. I have Psoriatic disease and my gut health sucks also because of it.

Do we think he’s faking it like a high schooler who never wanted to go to class?

He’s using his PTO like the rest of us
