In clips from the moment shared on social media, Kelce, who turns 37 on Tuesday, can be seen wrapping his arms around his brotherĀ Travis Kelceās girlfriend, and then going in for an embrace with the pop superstarās mother.
The sweet reunion came shortly after the retired NFL star spoke out at the top ofĀ CountdownĀ about a more unpleasant event which happened over the weekend.
“Iām not happy with anything that took place. Iām not proud of it,” Kelce said about his interaction with a fan who called his brother Travis a homophobic slur at the Ohio State-Penn State game. āWithin a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate and I donāt think thatās a productive thing. I donāt think it leads to discourse.ā
He continued, “In that moment I fell down to a level that I shouldnāt have. Bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rules. Thatās what Iāve always been taught. I try to treat people with decency and respect. Iām going to keep doing that moving forward.ā
Since retiring from the league after last season, Kelce has been showing up to support his brother ā and Swift.
Jason and his wifeĀ KylieĀ have attended multipleĀ Eras TourĀ concerts, most recently in Miami last month. Travis and Jasonās motherĀ Donna KelceĀ was also in attendance, which markedĀ her first-ever Eras Tour show.
Since bowing out of the playoffs last year, the father of three has also made it a point to cheer on Travis and the Chiefs ā shirt orĀ sans shirt.
āI’ve played in the NFL for a very long time,āĀ Jason told PEOPLE in June. āI have not been able to experience it as a fan for the most part. So obviously I’ll be working Monday nights, but that means Sundays are open, Thursdays are open. So I got some time to potentially take in the actual game-day atmosphere from a different lens now that the playing days are behind.ā
