The 2023 season went from one to remember to one to forget quickly for the Miami Dolphins. A slew of injuries across the roster, as well as a lack of quality depth at certain areas, ultimately did the Dolphins in, as they lost the division in Week 18 to the Buffalo Bills.
As such, with free agency set to officially begin on March 13 at 4:00 pm ET, the opportunity to improve the roster begins for general manager Chris Grier. Unfortunately, there are no teams worse off cap space wise than the Dolphins, who are $30 million over the cap in effective cap space as free agency begins per OverTheCap.com.
As a result, big, splashy free agent signings aren’t something Dolphins fans can likely count on. With a rash of internal free agents who were starters or key reserves about to hit the market, the focus should be on how many Miami can manage to keep in town.
