Gilbert Arenas once again reiterated his unwavering support for the Los Angeles Lakers and his belief that they’d reach the Western Conference Finals. He made this known once again during a recent episode of his podcast, The Gil’s Arena.
The Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, have had a season of inconsistencies and suffered a bad, if not terrible, patch of form after being crowned the NBA Cup champions. However, they proved on occasions why they still possess the X-factor and deserve to be taken seriously.
I keep telling you, Western Conference Finals, dawg, against Denver. How many times I gotta say the same thing? We gon’ be in the eighth seed. We gon’ smack through OKC. Then we gon’ beat on the Flippers, right? If they make it. We gon’ beat on them, and then we probably might take the L to Denver, but we gon’ make that a matchup this year.Arenas said
The Lakers last season finished seventh but made it to the Western Conference finals only to be swept away by the Denver Nuggets.
However, first, they need to ensure they make it through the regular season, as they are 9th and also finish strong to be able to put themselves in the best possible position for the playoffs.
Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe believe the Lakers’ deep run depends on LeBron James
Gilbert Arenas and Shannon Sharpe believe that the Lakers can emulate last season, where they made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Arenas, in particular, thinks that it fully depends on their superstar four-time MVP shifting gears and taking them as deep as possible.
They do, it's all dependent of LeBron. It ain't the Lakers' next gear, it's LeBron's next gear.Arenas said
Even Sharpe had agreed that the Lakers would overcome the Thunders if they met on the road to the Finals.
If they get OKC they'll beat OKC.A sentiment recently shared by the former Washington Wizards player, Agent Zero

The Lakers have the pedigree and depth to make a deep run, and anyone betting against them does that at their own expense. Next for the Lakers is a difficult away match against the Milwaukee Bucks.
