John Wick star Keanu Reeves reveals in an AMA that he’s still interested in playing the grizzled mutant Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Keanu Reeves is still game to play Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Taking questions in a special “Ask Me Anything” thread on Reddit to promote Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4, the legendary action star was asked if there was a role he regrets turning down. While Reeves expressed no career regrets, he admitted he’s still interested in putting on some adamantium claws, saying. “…No…but I did always want to play Wolverine.”
Keanu Reeves showed off his toned frame as he went shirtless for a yacht day in Capri, Italy recently.
The John Wick star, 58, looked in good spirits as he stripped off to green swimming trunks and enjoyed a glass of champagne while holidaying with his sister Kim, 56.
The actor was seen jumping off the boat for a refreshing swim before donning a baseball cap and shirt while he chatted with friends.
Making the most of his time off, the star wore a helmet as he prepared to go for a scenic Vespa ride in Europe.
Keanu was seen cracking a smile as he relaxed with his loved ones on a break from his hectic filming schedule.
It was a rare public sighting of Keanu with his younger sister, who looked chic in orange during the day.
Keanu famously donated 70% of his salary from the first The Matrix film to fund leukaemia research – after Kim battled the disease for 10 years.
The actor who was reportedly paid $10million upfront and earned $35million total for the first film in the franchise in 1999, was inspired to fund research into the blood cancer after Kim, was diagnosed in 1991, reported LadBible.
Keanu became Kim’s primary carer during this time and helped with her recovery after she spent a decade fighting the cancer, before going into remission.
The Speed star’s devotion to his sister saw him sell his home to be closer to her and the Matrix sequels delayed – he also reportedly spent $5 million on therapies to help Kim recover.
He has previously said of his sister: ‘She was always there for me, you know. I will always be here for her.’
The acclaimed actor has since launched a charity foundation to help those battling cancer.
In 2009 he told Ladies Home Journal: ‘I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research.
‘I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.’
Keanu was without girlfriend Alexandra Grant on the trip. The pair went public with their relationship in 2019, but their romance did not start right away. The met at a dinner party in 2009 then were friends for many years before their first date.
Keanu’s John Wick: Chapter 4 has earned more than 300 million dollars globally since its debut March 24.
Another sequel, Constantine 2 is currently listed as being in production.
The action star will reprise his role as supernatural exorcist and demonologist John Constantine, who in the original is dying but stays around to save his soul by keeping demons from hell from breaching earth, according to Deadline.
