On vacation in miami, USA, Neymar Jr. received on this Thursday (9), from the hands of mayor Francis Suárez, the key to the American city. The two met and had a chat about football, the World Cup and also about the affection that the athlete has for the place.
Suárez explained that the honor was given to the Brazilian “to celebrate your work and success, in addition to the affection we have for you. We know that you are a global superstar and you deserve that the city keeps its doors always open and that you use this key in your heart”, said the mayor.
Happy with the tribute, Neymar Jr. thanked him and joked: “This key is dangerous, huh?”. Then he added: thank you very much. I actually love miami and I’m sure that after I stop playing football, this is one of my favorite cities, so I will be here for a long time. Thank you so much for the symbolic memory. I’m out of words, but it’s an honor to receive this.”
Before saying goodbye, the Brazilian ace returned the kindness and gifted the mayor with a Brazil National Team jersey autographed by him. Suarez reaffirmed that miami will always have its arms and doors wide open to welcome the player. Still in a relaxed tone, Neymar Jr. relaxed: “And I will use the key to open it”.
