Despite the Chiefs declining Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s fifth-year option last year, the running back chose to re-sign with the team as a free agent.
Edwards-Helaire expressed that he considers Kansas City his home and believes it is the best fit for his career.
He acknowledged that his injuries and lack of playing time in the 2022 postseason contributed to the decision to decline his option.
However, Edwards-Helaire remains optimistic about his future with the Chiefs and is determined to contribute to their success.
In the 2023 season, he played 15 games, started three, and accumulated 223 rushing yards and 17 catches for 188 yards with a touchdown.
He will continue to play for the Chiefs in 2024.
