Quarterbacks seem to be the talk of the town this offseason! With almost every team scrambling to get their hands on a good quarterback, the Cleveland Browns seem to have no shortage of them on their roster. Reportedly, Tyler Huntley will now be joining Cleveland from the Baltimore Ravens. After playing as Lamar Jackson’s backup quarterback ever since his tenure with the Ravens (2020-2023), this will be the first time Huntley will explore a new home.
However, the Browns have the starting QB in the form of Deshaun Watson and that might prove to be a challenge for the 26-year-old. Huntley will look to make a statement and prove his prowess, given that he gets the opportunity to showcase the same. Nonetheless, Cleveland’s quarterback position is getting increasingly crowded, considering reports of Jameis Winston’s signing recently. With this latest addition, the Browns offense is beginning to take shape ahead of the upcoming season.
The Browns are having a major shift in the quarterback area of their roster this offseason. Starting QB Deshaun Watson is preparing to return with full force after recovering from his shoulder fracture suffered last season. His backup, veteran Joe Flacco, is reported to have joined the Indianapolis Colts with a one-year deal. Several reports also speculated that Jameis Winston is close to signing a deal and could be a potential addition to the Browns.
In addition, Cleveland has a rookie quarterback, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who was on injury reserve last season. And now they’re getting another quarterback to add to their already-loaded spot. According to Cleveland reporter Mary Kay Cobot, Huntley has reached common ground with the Browns. He might be signing a contract worth the minimum veteran salary and increasing the number of QBs in the team to four.
