Production of The Expendables 3 commenced recently in Bulgaria, under the direction of Patrick Hughes. While we won’t share any leaked photographs from the set featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford, we do have an interesting story from one of the cast members, Terry Crews. He recounts a harrowing near-death experience, but as he tells it, it becomes apparent that it was actually Jason Statham who was the one in real danger during filming. It turns out that a truck with faulty brakes caused Statham to drive straight into the Black Sea. It’s certainly an incredible story, and one worth watching!
Below is the transcript of Terry Crews’ appearance on “The Tonight Show,” where he candidly shared an interesting tale, as reported by Movies.com:
Patrick Hughes, the director of “Red Hill,” helms “The Expendedables 3” while the screenplay is penned by Sylvester Stallone, along with the talented writers of “Olympus Has Fallen,” Creighton Rothemberger and Katrin Benedikt. The film reunites the iconic characters of Barney, portrayed by Stallone, and Christmas, played by Jason Statham, as they confront Conrad Stonebanks, portrayed by Mel Gibson. Stonebanks, who co-founded The Expendables with Barney years ago, has since turned into a ruthless arms trader, causing Barney to believe he had killed him. However, Stonebanks, who has narrowly escaped death in the past, returns with the mission to bring an end to The Expendables. Unbeknownst to him, Barney has other plans as he assembles a new generation of Expendables, consisting of younger, faster, and technologically proficient team members.
