The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills will face off on Thursday night in a key AFC East clash. Both teams enter the game at 1-0 after overcoming slow starts in their season openers.
The Dolphins trailed the Jacksonville Jaguars 14-0 before scoring 20 unanswered points in the second half to secure a 20-17 victory. The Bills found themselves in an early 17-3 hole against the Arizona Cardinals but rallied for a 34-28 win.
The winner of Thursday’s game will take sole possession of first place in the AFC East. Even if the New England Patriots improve to 2-0 with a win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, the winner of Bills-Dolphins will hold the tiebreaker.
The Dolphins will be without running back Raheem Mostert and rookie wide receiver Malik Washington, while running back De’Von Achane is questionable with an ankle injury. The Bills will be missing cornerback Taron Johnson, who sustained a forearm injury in Week 1.
Offensively, both teams have the potential to put up points. Three of the last four meetings between these two teams have seen the total points surpass 60.
The game starts at 8:15 p.m. ET and can be seen on Amazon Prime.
While both defenses have undergone significant changes in the offseason, expect a high-scoring affair on Thursday night.
Prediction: Dolphins 30, Bills 27
