Lamar Jackson is maybe the most important piece to the Baltimore Ravens’ success in the 2024 season. The reigning NFL MVP, he’s one of the most dynamic players at his position.
Across six pro seasons, the signal caller’s racked up a pair of 1,000-yard rushing totals as well as two 3,000-yard passing outputs. Last year was one of his best as he posted career-highs in passing yards and completions on his way to a 13-3 starting record.
That said, losing the quarterback would prove detrimental to Baltimore’s postseason chances with reserves Devin Leary, Josh Johnson, and Emory Jones waiting on the sidelines.
Jackson nearly provided fans that reality with a near-fall while biking to practice on Thursday!
The passer made his way to the field by way of bicycle this week as he continues to prepare for the regular season opener. A group of bystanders surrounded Jackson as he rode down the sidewalk near the facility.
The fan favorite that he is, Lamar Jackson attempted to high five some of those practice attendees while pedaling through the crowd. It almost resulted in a wipeout!

Luckily, he caught himself before the fall while avoiding serious injury.
You might believe it farfetched to think an accident like this could sideline him, but crazier things have happened!
Lamar Jackson hasn’t played this preseason, and he doesn’t expect to be used in Baltimore’s final exhibition this weekend. That decision was made in an obvious attempt to keep him healthy after he missed significant time in both the 2021 and 2022 campaigns.
At this rate, the Ravens might consider a golf cart escort to practice over these next few weeks to better ensure his safety before the opener – or at least a set of training wheels!
Anything to keep the MVP on the field.
