The Team USA superstar returned from a golden summer at the Paris Olympics and treated everyone at the Lakers to some tasty team building.
James, known for being a wine connoisseur, snapped up some luxury vino, delicious dishes, and special surprises for his teammates and staff, now led by JJ Redick.
“This kind of dinner makes a group stronger, makes the team united, and he did a fantastic job organizing,” a player of the current roster told The U.S Sun.
“Our team captain, a leader that hosts such a luxurious team and staff dinner, with fantastic food and wines to get us together and unite the group as the season starts.”
LeBron and the entire staff enjoyed 10 bottles of 1999 Petrus Pomerol, which cost $3,195 a bottle, totaling $31,195.
They also spent $24,500 on 10 bottles of 2016 Domaine de Roman Conti Grand Cru Prince Florent de Mérode and 15 bottles of 200 Chateau Latour Pauillac, which cost a tasty $1,020 each.
And, to finish off the night, The King splurged $6,500 on some 2007 Henri Bonneau Chateauneuf-du-Pape Réserve Célestins at $650 each.
As the Lakers enjoyed their night, the four-time NBA champ gave a speech and promised that if they won the championship, he would get everyone a $30,000 Rolex watch.
“I have been playing in the league for many years now, and I have never seen anything like this before,” added the player.
“LeBron was very talkative, he gave us a speech where he spoke about the importance of team unity and to make efforts and sacrifices all together to make this season a historical one, and he was like a big brother to all of us.”
The future Hall of Famer gave each player and staff member a Louis Vuitton Christopher MM Bag, worth $3,350.
He snapped up a total of 65, which came to an eye-watering $217,750.
He spent $47,850 on 30 pairs of Cartier Santos Glasses and $181,900 on Rolex GMT-Master II watches.
The roster was also gifted a box of three bottles of 2004 Vega Sicilia Unico, Ribera del Duero, worth $1,425 each.
“We all left smiling and super motivated to fight for the ring, and I think it was an amazing idea to get us all together and enjoy a super team dinner with the guys and the staff,” the player said.
According to another source close to LeBron, the 39-year-old did everything possible to galvanize the Lakers to mount a strong start to the new campaign.
The unbelievable generosity hasn’t worked wonders yet, but there are some promising signs.
“LeBron wanted to show them love and that he supports and appreciates them a lot,” the source said.
“Luxury wines, super nice dinner, and great presents to make the team more united and have a great night as the season starts.
“I don’t think there is anything better to unite a team than doing stuff together that creates an excellent bond and group dynamic.”
