The Miami Dolphins extended a key piece of their offense before the 2024 season. This offseason, the Dolphins have added a few pieces to the offense at pass-catching positions.
The Miami Dolphins have added to the offense this offseason
The team looks to add more firepower for a postseason run in after after scoring just seven points in their Wild Card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. They made sure to extend one player on the roster who has been a staple in Mike McDaniel’s offense.
Raheem Mostert earned an extension
Per Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Dolphins e xtended running back Raheem Mostert to a two-year deal worth $9.075 million.
Mostert ran over 1,000 yards in 2023
Mostert ran for 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns last season and added three more in the passing game.
Extending Mostert is a big help for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Tua needs a solid running game to help open up the passing attack. They’ll need their backfield to play a larger role in the playoffs. In January, the Dolphins ran for just 76 yards in their loss to the Chiefs.
