Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson destroyed Nick Wright of FOX Sports 1 after the reigning MVP was snubbed from the analyst’s list of the top-five quarterbacks in the NFL.
After missing a total of 10 games to injury over the 2021 and 2022 seasons, Lamar Jackson stayed healthy and cruised to a second NFL MVP Award. He completed 67.2 percent of pass attempts for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions along with 821 rushing yards and five rushing scores.
And yet, Wright curiously doesn’t view Jackson as a top-five quarterback in football.
In a recent edition of “What’s Wright? With Nick Wright”, the polarizing analyst listed Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and CJ Stroud. He mentioned rookie Caleb Williams and Matthew Stafford as co-choices for the fifth spot.
Responding to a pair of fans on X/Twitter, Lamar Jackson decided to destroy Wright with a pair of tweets:
Wright stated that in order for Jackson to be a top-five QB on his list, the 27-year-old must stop having “the worst game of his season in the playoffs” every year.
Jackson has been one of the league’s top regular season performers since his 2018 rookie year, but, indeed, he hasn’t played his best in the postseason. The two-time MVP is 2-4 with a mediocre 57.4 completion percentage, 1,324 passing yards, six touchdowns and as many interceptions.
There shouldn’t be any major shame in losing to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. But if Jackson can’t get Baltimore to the Super Bowl this upcoming season, the “can’t win the big one” narrative will only grow stronger.
Lamar Jackson & Ravens Open Season At Chiefs
Jackson and the Ravens won’t have to wait long for an opportunity to make a real statement, as they’ll open the 2024 regular season at Kansas City in the Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium.
Lamar is 1-4 in his career against Mahomes. Chances are real high that Jackson will have to beat Kansas City along the way if he’s to lead Baltimore to the promised land.
