Ravens Sign Derrick Henry; ‘King’ Reveals Message to Baltimore Fans in NFL Free Agency
The Baltimore Ravens will undergo changes at running back … and they just did do so with an upgrade.
One of the most prominent available backs is eight-year veteran Derrick Henry, the two-time rushing champion who has spent his entire career with the Tennessee Titans. … and who according to reports has as of Monday afternoon – the start of NFL free agency – been contacted by the Ravens.
And on Tuesday? “The King” is coming to “The Queen City.” …: complete with a message for Ravens fans.
“Flock Nation I swea it’s up ! 💪🏾“ writes Henry on X.
The bullish former Alabama back, now 30, still appears to have a lot left in the proverbial running back tank. There has been talk that Baltimore would offer Henry a two-year, $20 million deal; what he gets is essentially two years and $16 million
He’s coming off a productive year. Henry rushed for 1,167 yards on 280 carries and scored 12 touchdowns. His average yards per carry last year was 4.2, down from his career average of 4.7, but that could be due to a down season for the Titans’ offensive line as much as anything.
The Ravens were unable to compete for Saquon Barkley, who jumps to the Eagles with a three-year deal worth $37.75 million. But the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens obviously feel they can compete with anybody with “King Henry” on their side.
