REPORT: Odell Beckham Jr. sends warning about Ravens to rest of NFL
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (3) Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY SportsStar quarterback Lamar Jackson recently declined to say that the 13-3 Baltimore Ravens are the best team he’s ever played for either in college or the NFL.
Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. went a different route while addressing his teammates and coaches inside the locker room following Baltimore’s dominant 56-19 blowout win over the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday.
“This is the best team I’ve ever been on, from the top to the bottom,” Beckham declared, as aired by the “Inside the NFL” program and shared by Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “We set ourselves up for success. Everything is right in front of us.”
Beckham featured for the 2016 New York Giants team that made the playoffs but then flopped in its only postseason game. While he played for the 2020 Cleveland Browns side that notched a playoff victory, he suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in October of that year. Most notably, the 31-year-old caught a touchdown pass to help the Los Angeles Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI back in February 2022.
Beckham acknowledged after he signed with the Ravens that “there were other places I wanted to go,” but he understandably seems to have no regrets about his decision heading into Week 18. In Baltimore, Beckham has the unnamed 2023 NFL Most Valuable Player (Jackson) as a teammate, and the two could hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy this coming February.
As of Tuesday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook listed the Ravens as the betting favorites at +140 odds to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LVIII. DraftKings had Baltimore second behind the San Francisco 49ers (+220) at +300 to win the Super Bowl at that same time.
Baltimore clinched the No. 1 seed in the AFC and will have home-field advantage through the conference title game assuming the Ravens make a run. The AFC North club could be a few wins away from proving Beckham right regarding his bold claim.
