The Miami Dolphins put their money where their mouth is this off-season in more than one way. Both Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill (arguably the Dolphins two most important offensive pieces) received a brand new or restructured contract this off-season.
Tagovailoa, however, had some comments recently regarding his former coaching staff that has come under some pretty heavy criticism.

Gridiron Heroics’ own Daniel Yerushalmi covered exactly what Tagovailoa had to say regarding one of his former head coaches:
Tua was a very high prospect coming out of college and he has proven that he’s worthy of his new four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with $167.1 million guaranteed, under his new coach. However, Tua would have never been able to get this contract with his former coach.
Now, the star quarterback went off on his former coach Brian Flores when he made an appearance on The Dan Le Batard Show this week. While McDaniels has shown how much he loves Tua, Flores is just the opposite.

The former NFL head coach was publicly not high on Tua, and now the quarterback gave a bit of an insight as to how felt about working under Flores. Tua ripped his former coach calling him a “terrible” person beyond just about football.
“To put it in simplest terms, if you woke up every morning and I told you you suck at what you did, that you don’t belong doing what you do, that you shouldn’t be here, that this guy should be here, that you haven’t earned this right, and then you have somebody else come in and tell you, ‘Dude, you are the best fit for this. You are accurate, you are the best whatever, you are this you are that,’ like, how would it make you feel listening to one or the other?” Tagovailoa told Le Batard.
“You see what I’m saying? And then you hear it, you hear it, regardless of what it is, the good or the bad, and you hear it more and more, you start to believe that. I don’t care who you are, you could be the president of the United States, you have a terrible person that’s telling you things that you don’t want to hear or that you probably shouldn’t be hearing, you’re going to start to believe that about yourself. And that’s sort of what ended up happening. It’s been two years of training that out of, not just me but a couple of the guys as well that have been here since my rookie year till now.”
It is truly insane to think that this is what Tua was facing at every practice while he was just trying to work. It makes perfect sense that he would perform terribly in those circumstances, and have just the opposite production when he is secure in his job.

Of course, Tua is allowed to have his own opinion, however, any time you publicly criticize an NFL coach, there will be reactions:
Lol Tua may be the only person ever to speak badly about Flores. Maybe admit he sucked as a rookie

So Tua didn’t respond to hard coaching. Got it. Some do.

I wanna hear Flores’s side now

I don’t know, that sounds exactly what Bill Belichick has told every one of his players from the beginning of time.
I guess toughness is what separates the Tom’s from the Tua’s.

Tua is a softy. Sounds like he doesn’t like old school coaching. You see it got him better, but in the most moist way possible.
