Mason Greenwood has been spotted in training with his new club Getafe, so fans of La Liga will soon get to see him for the first time.

Manchester United have agreed to loan out one of their academy players to Jose Bordalas’ team in Spain on the final day of the transfer window. Greenwood has spent this week getting to know his new teammates and is working toward making his club debut soon.

Since Getafe’s next game isn’t until September 17, Greenwood will have time to settle in before making his debut due to the timing of the international break. On Saturday they were denied a draw by rivals Real Madrid in the 95th minute courtesy to a goal by Jude Bellingham, and they will host Osasuna on Sunday looking for their second win of the season.

“Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here,” the loan forward wrote to his new followers on social media. I’m thrilled to join the team, and I can’t wait to dive in.
For the past year and a half, Greenwood’s main training experience has been beside his father and with individual instructors. Tuesday’s outing was his first public training with a squad in almost two years.
To mock the seriousness of the situation would be irresponsible, he warned the press. Everyone is aware of the situation and the necessary actions have been made, so naturally we can only discuss football.

He is a free man, a footballer of a very high level, and he arrives at Getafe with enormous enthusiasm, and we are obviously going to help him recover back to his best level, so I believe the people and the relevant authorities did what they had to do, and everyone knows how it ended with a non-conviction sentence.
