The NFL player, who has been dating Taylor Swift – one of the most influential women in the entertainment industry – since last summer, made a brief cameo in the first-look trailer on Thursday.
The clip features disturbing imagery of religious crosses, a figure hitting victims with a hammer, a meat grinder, and a swimming pool filled with boiling water.
Niecy Nash-Betts, who stars in the horror drama, is heard saying, ‘I don’t know how it started. It’s like a hole opened up in the world to the center of nothingness.’
Towards the end of the clip, the three-time Super Bowl champ appeared on screen briefly, and waved his hands in front of his face.
‘first nepo boyfriend,’ one fan commented, while another echoed the sentiment, ‘ok Nepo boyfriend.’
Another chimed in, ‘I guess because your Taylor Swift’s boyfriend you can become an actor now.’
A fourth fan joked, ‘Not him doing side quests in his break.’
The 10-episode series from the co-creator of Glee and American Horror Story is set to drop in September, and follows a detective attempting to solve a string of heinous crimes.
Kelce’s role still remains a mystery, however he previously opened up about feeling like an ‘amateur’ on set.
‘It’s been so much fun,’ Travis told his brother, Jason Kelce, on an episode of the New Heights podcast in May.
‘I feel like a jabroni, I feel like an amateur, but I haven’t gotten fired yet,’ he went on. ‘They haven’t told me to f**king kick rocks after the first week.’
The tight end said he didn’t want to ‘give away too much’ about the plot but described the series as ‘quite a mystery.’
‘Everybody’s just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable and giving me the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part,’ he continued.
‘I’m just taking it scene-by-scene and making sure I remember my lines … I’m very amater at this.’
Kelce also gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at his time on set with Nash-Betts, said he’s ‘blown away’ that Murphy gave him such a ‘big role.’
‘He seemed very confident that I’d be able to do this and he injected that [belief] in me the first conversation we had,’ the athlete explained.
‘I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity. I’m sure there’s actors out there that would die for an opportunity to work with Ryan, and I’m getting it in my first gig ever … hopefully I don’t f**k it up,’ he added, as his voice trailed off.
