Wide receiver Tyreek Hill has made it abundantly clear he has no intention of leaving the Miami Dolphins, the city he’s grown to love, anytime soon. Hill, who has spent two standout seasons with the Dolphins, spoke passionately about his affection for Miami during the “Around the Bar” podcast.
Hill mentioned, “I love Miami. I love every bit of it.
My wife, my kids, my mom — they all love it. It’s just a fantastic city to live in.
There’s a plethora of activities to do.” He expressed a strong desire to conclude his professional career in Miami but acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the NFL, including shifts in job roles and promotions that could affect his aspirations.
However, his admiration for the city, his team, and the Dolphins’ management was evident. “That means sign me.
I love all you guys so much, I want to stay in Miami forever, man. Keep me there,” Hill added, declaring his loyalty to the team and the city.
On the field, Hill has been exceptional, smashing Miami franchise records for receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,710) in his first season, and further elevating his game in the second season with 1,799 receiving yards. Despite his impressive contributions, Hill’s future with the Dolphins faces uncertainty due to financial constraints. Turning 30 earlier this year, Hill’s contract is set to significantly impact the Dolphins’ salary cap over the next three seasons, with figures rising each year.
The possibility of Hill’s departure next offseason looms if the Dolphins decide to save on their salary cap. Although a contract extension could mitigate the cap hit, it poses a dilemma given Hill’s age and the potential need to prioritize a younger Jaylen Waddle.
Despite the speculations around his future with the team, Hill remains optimistic about the Dolphins’ prospects. He praised his teammates, including quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle, and defensive leader Jalen Ramsey, emphasizing the special bond and potential within the squad. “It’s amazing what we’re building in Miami,” Hill said, highlighting his pride in being a key figure in the team.
Determined to make the most of his time on the field, Hill concluded, “I’m trying to use these legs until they don’t work no more,” signaling his commitment to the game and his hope to remain a vital part of the Dolphins for as long as possible.
