BALTIMORE, Md. (April 28, 2024)— Morgan State University’s standout defensive back,Jordan Toles, has inked an Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA) deal with the Baltimore Ravens.Toles’ journey to the NFL took an unconventional path. After starting his collegiate career at LSU, Toles transferred to Morgan State, a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Despite the move, Toles continued to excel, showcasing his defensive prowess and knack for making g ame-changing plays.
In the 2023 football season, Toles emerged as a dominant force in the MEAC. The safety from Baltimore (St. Frances HS), showcased exceptional skills and earned a well-deserved spot on the All-MEAC First Team. Throughout the season, Toles consistently displayed his defensive prowess. He finished as the Bears’ second leading tackler, amassing 66 tackles, a testament to his relentless pursuit of the ball carrier. His ability to read and anticipate plays allowed him to make key stops and disrupt opposing offenses.
In addition to his tackling prowess, Toles also displayed his playmaking ability with three interceptions (T-No. 36 in FCS) and a blocked kick.
Toles, a four-time MEAC Player of the Week and Aeneas Williams Award semifinalist, had one of his best career performances when he collected a career-high 14 tackles (9 solo) when the Bears squared off against Howard in their season finale.
In the esteemedAllstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, hosted by the Black College Football Hall of Fame, Toles emerged as a beacon of talent. The postseason all-star game served as a platform for Toles to showcase his ability caught the attention of numerous scouts, signaling his potential to ascend to the next level.Overall, Toles’ performance during the 2023 season was a testament to his hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent and he left an indelible mark on the Morgan State Bears defense.
The UDFA deal provides Toles with a chance to prove himself in the NFL and earn a spot on the Ravens’ active roster.
